OAE and Automated ABR

There are 2 steps in newborn hearing screening program.

Step 1 (screening). This step includes OAE hearing screening of all 3-4-day-old neonates in perinatal centers.

Step 2 (diagnostics). The OAE, ABR and other hearing tests are made for infants under age of 3 months who referred at Step 1 or for all infants with hearing loss risk factors.

Audio-SMART system is well suited for both steps of hearing screening. At Step 1 TEOAE, DPOAE and automated ABR recordings are made which are recommended for risk groups to detect patients with auditory neuropathy/desynchronization.

The advanced algorithm of response analysis in frequency range provides recording under tough conditions at significant electromagnetic interference.

Really Portable Middle Ear Analyzer

Audio-SMART is the best solution for on-site mobile hearing testing with high diagnostic level. The system can operate in stand-alone mode for a long time and due to its large memory nearly unlimited number of exams can be saved. Audio-SMART system is delivered in a lightweight bag, comfortable to carry and keep the device and its accessories.

High-frequency Tympanometry

High-frequency tympanometry (1000 Hz probe tone) is recommended for hearing evaluation of newborns and infants. You can easily select the probe tone and air pressure range. During one session up to 4 tympanograms with different settings can be obtained. The system can stop examination automatically when tympanogram peak pressure is detected. It helps to reduce testing time and protect ear from overpressure.

ABR Test with Wave V Jewett Marker 

If a patient has obtained the “Refer” result during the hearing screening, ABR test is conducted to make diagnostic audiological assessment. In this case the Audio-SMART system would come in handy. You can record ABR waves with different stimulus intensity during one exam, set a marker on wave V for latency measurement and generate latency-intensity table. The device has switchable input. The electrodes can be switched automatically depending on the stimulation side when the mastoid montage is used. So, you don’t care on repositioning of electrodes during test.
